Belarus intends to increase its GDP by 1.7 percent in 2017

MINSK, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian government has set the task to increase gross domestic product by 1.7 percent in 2017.

In the first quarter of 2016 Belarusian government plans to reduce its GDP by 0.4 percent, in the first half the GDP will be increased by 0.2 percent and by 1.7 percent at the end of the year, as stated in the decree No. 1008 of the Government of Belarus, published on Wednesday on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The real incomes of the population are expected to grow by 1.3 percent, labor productivity - by 1.8 percent in 2017.

The Belarusian government expects that foreign direct investment on a net basis will amount 1.4 billion U.S. dollars.

The consumer price index shall not exceed 9 percent, the document said.

World Bank experts believe that the recession in Belarusian economy will remain in 2017. GDP reduction will be at the level of 0.9 percent, the bank predicted. Enditem
