HONG KONG, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Education catalyzes positive changes worldwide and the improvement rests upon interaction and exchange, Cai E-Sheng, chairman of The South South Education Foundation (SSEF) said on Monday.

He made the remarks at a themed event hosted by the foundation, with the topic "Education: One Dream, One Future."

Cai said the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has proposed a goal to the whole mankind.

"We South South Education Foundation also have our dream: striving to improve educational infrastructure in South South countries, connecting people, conducting education research projects and poverty alleviation projects," he said.

He said he is confident to face greater challenges in the coming year, adding that more education-oriented international projects will be conducted to enhance communication among developing countries.

"In addition we will conduct more domestic education sponsorship projects focused on the disadvantaged groups including left-behind children, the disabled and people in underdeveloped region," he said.

"In the form of education opportunities, targeted poverty alleviation can be better implemented. In addition we are planning to extend coverage of our public welfare programs and strengthen our social and international influence so that more motivated talents could join us and participate in our projects and devote themselves to sustainability of education," he added.

Founded in May 2014, SSEF is a non-religious, non-political and non-profit charity foundation.

It dedicates itself to promoting education exchange, sponsoring talent training, donating education facilities and equipment, and supporting important researches.
