Polish president sends condolences to Egypt after cathedral bombing

WARSAW, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Polish President Andrzej Duda sent condolences on Sunday to Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi after dozens of people were killed in an explosion at a Coptic Cathedral in Cairo.

"Let me offer words of sympathy on behalf of the Polish people and myself," Duda was quoted as saying by Polish Press Agency.

"I am convinced that terrorists, who are behind this barbarous act of violence, will not manage to weaken the solidarity and unity of the Egyptian people," Duda wrote in a message.

At least 25 people were killed and 49 others injured on Sunday in an explosion at the Coptic Cathedral in Abbasiya's neighborhood of Cairo, Egypt's Ministry of Health said in a statement.

No one has claimed yet responsibility for the attack.
