Algeria urges to eradicate terrorism after suicide attack in Nigeria

ALGIERS, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Algeria on Saturday strongly condemned a terrorist attack that hit civilians in a street market on Friday in northeast Nigeria, Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday to APS news agency.

"Algiers condemns with the most vigor manner the terrorist attack that targeted a street market in northeast Nigeria," foreign ministry spokesman Abdelaziz Benali Cherif was quoted as saying by APS.

The spokesman said Algeria reaffirms its "unflinching position in terms of rejecting terrorism," urging the international community to coordinate efforts with a view to eradicate terrorism.

As many as 45 civilians were killed in the suicide bombing in the northeast state of Adamawa, when two females blew off themselves at a market, local media reported.

At least 127 people were wounded in the explosion, among them 57 critically injured.

Terrorist group Boko Haram claimed the responsibility of the attack.
