BRUSSELS, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- The name of Brussels Airlines would be kept for a minimum of two years, following its takeover by Lufthansa which is scheduled to be completed on Dec. 15, Belgian media reported Friday.
The very positive impact of the name Brussels Airlines on the African market, a market targeted by Lufthansa, was the cornerstone of this decision, according to the reports.
After two years, the name of Brussels Airlines will be re-evaluated, the reports said.
The chairman of the board and CEO of Brussels Airlines reportedly will remain in place after the deal.
Germans and Belgians have conducted intensive negotiations in recent weeks and decisions concerning the repurchase price, management and the future name of the company have been made.
