OSLO, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- More than 40 young Afghan asylum seekers in Norway have been sent back to Kabul since Saturday, newspaper Aftenposten reported on Friday.

One of the first to be escorted back in this group, a boy named Wazir, was confirmed by the Norwegian court to be under the age of majority on December 2, only to be sent back to Afghanistan the next day, the report said.

Wazir told Norwegian authorities he was 16 and that he arrived in Norway almost a year ago. He is now in a hotel in Kabul together with other Afghans who have been sent out of Norway.

Wazir has no family in Kabul. He has received 350 U.S. dollars and a bed to sleep in for the next two weeks. He said there were between 40 and 50 people deported at the guest house that Norwegian police immigration service (PU) and Norwegian authorities rent in Kabul.

Prior to this, Wazir was in a detention center in Trandum near Oslo.

From January until October this year there have been 2,323 rejected asylum seekers from Afghanistan.

In the last 10 months, 743 Afghans have been sent out of Norway.
