Southwest Airlines flight makes emergency landing in northern Texas

Source: Xinhua   2016-12-08 14:14:56

HOUSTON, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- A Houston-bound Southwest Airlines flight later Wednesday afternoon made an emergency landing in Dallas in northern Texas due to a possible "pressurization issue."

Flight No.43 took off from Dallas on Wednesday afternoon, only to turn around and return to the airport 45 minutes later.

The airline has confirmed the accident, saying in a statement that the aircraft went back to Dallas after receiving a cockpit indication that there was "a pressurization issue."

Oxygen masks on board the plane were deployed. The aircraft later landed safely in Dallas with no injures and was taken out of service for inspection.

It was the second time that the airline had such an incident this week.

On Tuesday evening, a Southwest Airlines Flight 214 heading to Houston from Atlanta, Georgia, made an emergency landing in Jackson, Mississippi, due to a "pressurization issue," which also caused oxygen masks to deploy.

Headquartered in Dallas, Southwest Airlines is a major U.S. airline and one of the world's largest low-cost carriers.
