HAVANA, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Cuban President Raul Castro has participated in the burial of the ashes of his elder sister and brother Angela and Ramon Castro, in Biran, their hometown, in the eastern province of Holguin, the official NTV news reported on Tuesday.
Their remains were placed in the family pantheon, where their parents and grandparents also rest.
Angela was the daughter of the Spanish landowner Angel Castro and his first wife Maria Luis Argota, and she died in February 2012.
Ramon, Fidel and Raul were the descendants of Angel with his second wife Lina Ruz. Ramon, Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba, died in February 2016.
According to the TV report, the family decided to bury them in Biran, also birth place of the recently deceased revolutionary leader Fidel Castro, because this was the place where they were born and developed part of their history.
The farewell speech was given by Cuban historian Eusebio Leal. At present the house where Fidel and Raul Castro were born is a museum due to its historical value.
