HONG KONG, Dec 7 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake of 5.0 magnitude jolted 97km WNW of L'Esperance Rock, New Zealand at 16:49:18 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 405.25 km, was initially determined to be at 31.0196 degrees south latitude and 179.8025 degrees west longitude.
