TUNIS, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi said Monday that he welcomed Chinese companies to invest in Tunisia in his meeting with Wang Jiarui, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Essebsi said that his country attaches great importance to China-Tunisia relations and hopes to strengthen bilateral communication and cooperation in various fields.
Investment from Chinese companies could boost Tunisia's development and benefit people of both countries, the president added.
Wang expressed China's support for the Tunisian people in choosing their own way of development, saying China is willing to tap the potentials of a pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.
He also said that the Communist Party of China is ready to step up friendly exchanges with all principal political parties in Tunisia to share governance experience.
