ISLAMABAD, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- A web-portal about China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was launched here on Tuesday to provide authoritative and comprehensive information over the CPEC which is predicted as a "game changer" for Pakistan as well as for the whole region.

The Pakistan-China Institute (PCI) has developed the website of cpecinfo.com in collaboration with China Radio International (CRI) and it will be jointly organized by the two organizations.

PCI Chairman Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, in his welcome speech, said the aim of developing the website was to provide facts about the CPEC so that people could have clear and authoritative information about the mega project.

"The PCI has devised a comprehensive CPEC information collection and verification mechanism, which will involve the stakeholders of the CPEC, enhance their knowledge about the bilateral collaboration, and enrich their interaction for mutual gains," said Sayed.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong hailed the launch of the portal and hoped that "this new website will become an important source of comprehensive information for all the people who want to learn more about CPEC," adding that "I am also convinced that this new website will help build up more support and consensus on CPEC among the people of Pakistan in the future."

The website carries multiple informative material in text, photo and video form about the CPEC. It provides 10 fundamentals about the CPEC, gives details about four sectors of the CPEC, including Gwadar port, industrial cooperation, energy, transportation infrastructure, and presents academic researches about the project.
