SKOPJE, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Macedonia's export in the first 10 months of 2016 saw a 5.8 percent growth year on year to around four 4 U.S. dollars, according to figures released by the State Statistical Office on Monday.
Precious metals and their compounds such as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, and ferro-nickel as well as clothes mainly contributed to the growth.
Meanwhile, the import saw a similar yearly growth of 5.7 percent to about 5.5 billion dollars.
Increased imports of platinum products and oil products were the main drivers of the growth, said the office.
Thus, the country registered trade deficit of about 1.6 billion dollars between January and October, according to the office's preliminary data.
By countries, Germany, Britain, Serbia, Greece and Bulgaria are the main trading partners of Macedonia.
