NAIROBI, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Some Kenya Airways passengers were stranded in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on Monday after technicians failed to show up for work.
The Kenya Airways said this had caused flight delays and inconveniences to its passengers but was working to reduce disruptions.
"We would like to advise our guests that we are experiencing some delays due to a number of our technicians not showing up for work," the airline said in a statement.
The national carrier has been facing economic challenges that have seen senior management resign in order to reduce operational costs.
Kenya Airways, once the most successful airlines in Africa, is now relying heavily on debt to finance its operations, partly blamed on mismanagement.
