SINGAPORE, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is investigating the cause of Singtel's fiber broadband outage on Dec. 3, local media reported on Monday.
The authority said in a statement that IMDA takes the fiber broadband service disruption "very seriously", and it is also looking into the recovery measures taken by Singtel, Southeast Asia's largest telecommunications operator.
The disruption of fiber broadband service on Dec. 3 lasted almost the entire day. Singtel said the disruption, which started at 8: 45 a.m. on Dec. 3, were fully restored by 8: 25 a.m. on Sunday.
The telco have ascertained that the service disruption were not due to a DDoS attack, according to Singtel's Facebook post. The telco said they are taking this incident very seriously and are taking steps to review processes to prevent a recurrence.
