Jordan, Slovenia call for political solution to Syrian crisis

AMMAN, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Jordan and Slovenia on Sunday reiterated the need to push for a political solution to the Syrian crisis, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

At a meeting between King Abdullah II of Jordan and Slovenian President Borut Pahor in Amman, the two leaders stressed on a solution that aims to end the violence and preserve the unity and the territorial integrity of Syria.

The two sides also discussed efforts to combat terrorism.

In this regard, the Jordanian leader urged a comprehensive approach to counter terrorism that is an issue facing the Middle East and the other parts of the world.

The Slovenian president voiced support for Jordan's efforts and services provided to the Syrian refugees.

He said it was important for the international community to reach a consensus over a political solution to the crisis in Syria.

Talks between the two leaders also covered the peace process in the Middle East and means to boost bilateral cooperation.
