WELLINGTON, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale jolted 10 km east of Seddon, New Zealand South Island at 03:15:47 GMT on Sunday, the government's GeoNet monitoring service said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 12 km, was initially determined to be at 41.68 degrees south latitude and 174.18 degrees east longitude.
