ST. PETERSBURG, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- The agreement on a remake of the movie "Amphibian Man" between Lenfilm studio, Glavkino studio and the Sino-Russian Fund of Culture and Education was signed on Thursday at the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
All leading roles in the remake will be given to Chinese actors. Local media report that the film shoots will begin in 2018 in China and Crimea.
The remake of "Amphibian Man" is just the beginning of a big project of cooperation between Chinese and Russian film companies. CCTV and Glavkino film studio will do a series of documentaries about the history of Chinese-Soviet relations.
"Amphibian Man" is the 1961 Soviet science fiction romance film based upon the eponymous novel by Alexander Beliaev.
