TRIPOLI, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Libyan Foreign Minister Mohamed Sayala met on Thursday with Ambassador of Italy to Libya Giuseppe Perrone in Tripoli.

Perrone told reporters that the Italian Embassy in Tripoli will be re-opened, but did not specify a date for the reopening.

Perrone said that Italy will not intervene militarily in Libya and willing to provide aid to the government of national accord.

Giuseppe Perrone has been appointed on November 26. Foreign missions in Libya fled the country in 2014 with rival militias started violent war for dominance.

The government of national accord, headed by Fayez Serraj, has been appointed based on a UN-sponsored peace agreement signed by the country's political rivals in order to end the state of division.

However, Libya remains politically divided despite the signed peace deal amid escalating violence.
