JAKARTA, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's inflation in November stood at 0.47 percent, up from 0.14 percent recorded a month earlier, due to increased prices in several items including processed foods, beverages, cigarette and tobacco products, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) said Thursday.

The swelling cost to rent land was also responsible for the inflation increase last month, BPS Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics Sasmito Hadi Wibowo said.

Sasmito said that on year-to-date basis from January to November, Indonesia's inflation stood at 2.59 percent.

Indonesian government has initially set inflation target at about 4 percent for this year. The central bank estimated that inflation may reach 3.5 percent this year.

The November inflation figure came up from results of BPS survey conducted in 82 cities across the nation, of which 78 suffered from inflation, he added.

According to Sasmito several cities in eastern Indonesia saw deflations with lowering prices in their staple food of fish.

"The deflation was seen in Bau Bau, Jayapura and Kendari," Sasmito said.
