MOSCOW, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday appointed former Deputy Finance Minister Maxim Oreshkin as the new economic development minister, according to the Kremlin.
He replaces Alexei Ulyukayev, who was detained earlier this month on charges of taking a bribe of 2 million U.S. dollars.
Oreshkin, 34, has a master's degree in economics. Prior to his post in the Finance Ministry, he worked in Russia's Central Bank and several commercial banks.
