COLOMBO, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- A Sri Lanka parliament official said Tuesday about that Sri Lankan Members of Parliament benefited immensely from participation in exchange programs in China this year.
About 40 MPs visited China under the goodwill of the Chinese government this year in separate batches, said Secretary General of Parliament Dammika Dissanayake, who participated in such a visit with the political party leaders, adding the MPs were able to see how China had made giant strides in economic growth and Sri Lanka could learn from such advancements in China.
"This is a good exposure for Sri Lankan MPs. They got a chance to see how China has developed, their system of effective governance," he said.
Speaker of Sri Lanka Parliament Karu Dissanayake said the exchange programs will strengthen the Sino-Lanka ties.
