YANGON, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- The internally displaced people (IDP), who fled the recent conflicts in northern Myanmar, started returning to their homes as security improved in their home towns and villages, the official media reported Tuesday.
So far, over 400 IDPs have left five relief camps, including those set up in a church, two monasteries and two basic education schools in the town of Muse.
Schools and banks also reopened in Muse as peace and stability have been restored to some extent.
According to the Ministry of Information, border trade at the Muse border crossing with China has also resumed after one-week suspension due to outbreak of military conflicts.
Trucks have been allowed to enter after the trade gate in Muse was re-opened at the weekend.
Of the four border gates with China, Muse is the largest trade zone with maximum trade value transacting between the two neighbors.
Military conflicts broke out in border area of northern Myanmar's Shan state on Nov. 20 after an alliance of three ethnic armed groups launched attacks on military outposts and police stations in Muse and Kutkai towns as well as the Muse border trade center.
