SANTIAGO, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The president of the Chilean Senate, Ricardo Lagos Weber, and his counterpart in the Chamber of Deputies, Osvaldo Andrade, will lead the Chilean delegation to Havana to participate in the funeral of Fidel Castro.

"After speaking with the minister of foreign affairs and with the head of protocol, a delegation will go, led by the president of the Senate, the president of the Chamber of Deputies," Lagos Weber told reporters on Sunday.

The death of Castro late Friday, at the age of 90, evoked strong reaction, sorrow and condolences in Chile.

Chilean television stations interrupted their broadcasts to break the news of the death of the Cuban revolutionary leader, while newspapers dedicated special sections to one of the most important figures of the 20th century.

Chilean President Michelle Bachelet issued a statement in memory of Castro, calling him "a leader for the dignity and social justice of Cuba and Latin America."
