RAMALLAH, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) on Sunday called on international efforts urging the release of two Palestinian prisoners, who have been on a hunger strike in an Israeli jail for more than 60 days.
The two prisoners, from the West Bank city of Hebron, are under administrative detention, said Eassa Qaraqea, chairman of PLO's Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees Affairs.
The health conditions of the two prisoners, Annas Shadid and Ahmed Abu Fara, have been reportedly deteriorating, their lives at risk.
Israel should "immediately end their arrest and set them free," said Qaraqea, blaming Israel's carelessness on the conditions of the prisoners.
He warned that the prisoners' lives will be in danger and "Israel will be fully responsible in case they die."
Qaraqea called on thousands of prisoners, jails and detention camps to exert pressure on the Israeli prison services until the two prisoners get out from prison alive.
Official Palestinian figures show that Israel issued 950 orders of administrative detention to Palestinians, the number of prisoners under administrative detention in Israeli jails climbed to 750.
Israel holds around 7,000 prisoners, dozens of them had already spent more than 20 years in jail.
