Saudi-led coalition says intercepts missile from Yemen

Source: Xinhua   2016-11-27 03:09:34

RIYADH, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a missile fired from Yemen that targeted the border city of Khamis Mushait, Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.

The coalition forces have destroyed the missile, it said.

Clashes between Saudi forces and Houthis along the Saudi-Yemeni borders have kept escalating in recent months, despite intermittent ceasefire deals, including one that was called off last week.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia has been leading an Arab coalition to fight Houthis in Yemen in support of Yemeni elected President Ali Abdullah Saleh, a war that has led to the death of thousands of civilians in both countries.
