The Chief of Defense Staff Michael Samson-Oje said the military, together with civil police and other security services, was ready to deal ruthlessly with any such persons or groups, adding that any unlawful act would be met with the force that it deserved.

He however assured that the armed forces would abide by the ethical codes and principles in its duties.

With 12 days to the general election on December 7, pockets of violence in the capital, Accra, and other parts of Ghana have heightened fears the polls could fall into chaos.
