Chinese book fair launched in Beirut

BEIRUT, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese book fair was launched Friday at the UNESCO palace in Beirut with the release of a book entitled "Hand by Hand-Half a Century of Chinese-Lebanese friendship."

The book was published on the occasion of the 45th year of establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The fair is organized by the Chinese General Directorate of Information and the Chinese Embassy in Lebanon, and was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian, former Economy and Trade Minister Adnan Kassar and leading businessmen and authors from both countries.

Kassar said that the bilateral relations developed during the last century, revealing "I travelled to China with the late Prime Minister Martyr Rafic Hariri and the moments of this successful trip are detailed in the book we are launching today."

Hassan Falha, Director General of the Lebanese Ministry of Interior, said that "the Chinese-Lebanese relations are a unique example of cooperation between countries as for the difference in capacity, surface and number of habitant."

"The two countries share the humanitarian, cultural and civilization diversity of belief and religion," he added, stressing that between Lebanon and China there is "a uniqueness of wealth and importance of the role they played in human civilization."
