BANGKOK, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Thai police dismissed implications of an Australian intelligence report suggesting some Thais were involved with the Islamic State (IS), local media reported Thursday.
The Police said there has been no evidence so far of Thai nationals funding the IS group, but further investigations are under way to verify the latest information provided by Australia.
The words came after Australian police informed Thai authorities on Tuesday that some groups of Thais were providing financial support to IS.
Deputy police chief Srivara Ransibrahmanakul in charge of security said Thailand still hasn't got any information indicating that there are IS-aligned movements in the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan also played down concerns, saying there was no link showing IS had expanded into Thailand.
"I haven't seen information about some Thais giving support," Prawit said.
