NAIROBI, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Kenya Airways Group CEO Mbuvi Ngunze will be leaving the airline early next year, the airline's chairman Michael Joseph said Thursday.
"While I regret this decision, Ngunze will stay on until a successor is found, which is expected to take some months," said Joseph.
Joseph who is the former CEO of Safaricom, the country's largest telecom operator, said they will focus on producing the right outcomes to lead Kenya Airways into its next chapter.
The Kenya Airline Pilots Association had been pushing for the resignation of Ngunze and former chairman Dennis Awori since April, forcing the airline to experience hitches and flight delays.
The union has accused Ngunze and his team of being unable to get the airline out of its financial woes.
