RAMALLAH, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- A senior Palestinian official said Thursday that the Palestinians are willing to positively respond to the U.S. president-elect Donald Trump's wish to make peace with Israel.
Tayeb Abdul Rahim, the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) Presidency chief of staff said in Ramallah "We are ready to respond to the desire of newly elected president of the United States President Trump for peace in the Middle East."
"We always positively responded to all former initiatives in order to make a just and comprehensive peace in the region," Abdul Rahim told a gathering at the office of Japan diplomatic representative in Ramallah.
Last U.S.-sponsored direct bilateral peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians had stopped in April 2014 after it went on for nine months without achieving any tangible progress due to deep differences on Israel settlement.
The senior official also called for supporting the state of Palestine to join all international agencies and treaties and condemn all the Israeli policies of sieges, land confiscation, homes demolitions and killing of children.
