ZAGREB, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Tuesday said he considered Interpol's recent decision of not renewing a warrant against the CEO of Hungarian energy firm MOL as "technical."
He added that the Croatian judiciary would continue proceedings against him.
Last week, Interpol rejected Croatia's request to renew an international arrest warrant for the chief of MOL Zsolt Hernadi, who is accused in Croatia of bribery.
"I see the information we have received regarding Interpol as technical information," Plenkovic said, adding Croatian judicial authorities were continuing proceedings against Hernadi.
Any disputes on the issue may be resolved as part of cooperation within the EU, he added.
Hernadi was accused in 2013 in Croatia for allegedly bribing former Croatian prime minister Ivo Sanader 10 million euros (10.6 million U.S. dollars) to allow MOL to take over management of Croatia's energy firm INA. The Croatian government and MOL are the biggest shareholders in INA.
At the request of Croatia, Interpol issued a red international arrest warrant against Hernadi, as well as a European arrest warrant. However, Hernadi has remained out of reach of the Croatian judiciary.
MOL has repeatedly denied the allegations, claiming that Hernadi never bribed any politicians or did not give money to anyone to acquire controlling rights in INA, local media reported.
