EU condemns terrorist attack in Kabul mosque

BRUSSELS, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- The European Union (EU) on Monday condemned a terrorist attack on a mosque in Kabul which claimed at least 27 lives.

"We offer our condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wish a swift recovery to those who were injured," a spokesperson of the European External Action Service said in a statement.

"The EU stands by the Afghan authorities and people in the fight against terrorism, and remains committed to helping the Afghan people to achieve a peaceful and prosperous future," the spokesperson added.

At least 27 people were killed and 35 others wounded after a suicide bombing ripped through a Shiite mosque in the western part of Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, on Monday, police said.
