BEIJING, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Beijingers woke up gleefully Monday morning to find that parts of the city had been blanketed by a thin layer of snowl due to the impact of a cold spell.

With howling wind, the temperature dropped dramatically overnight and now stays barely above zero degree Celsius. Weather forecast says the temperature will continue to fall to as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius after the snow. The abrupt cold snap, however, has little impact on local citizens' zeal to go out for pictures-taking and then share them on social media.

Here are some of the photos posted on WeChat, one of China's popular social media platforms, and Weibo, China's Twitter-like microblogging platform.
