PHNOM PENH, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- A truck transporting garment factory workers overturned in southwestern Cambodia's Kampong Speu province, leaving 20 workers injured, a Labor Ministry statement said on Sunday.
The latest accident occurred late Saturday afternoon when the speedy truck hit a motorcycle in the same direction before turning upside down on the roadside.
"Twenty workers got injured, eight in serious conditions," the statement said, adding that the ill-fated workers had been rushed to hospitals soon after the crash.
The truck driver had fled the scene.
Transporting factory workers in open trucks to and from factories is common in this Southeast Asian country. Earlier this month, some 26 garment workers were also wounded when their truck overturned in southeastern Svay Rieng province.
The country's 6.5-billion-U.S. dollar garment industry is comprised of some 1,000 factories, employing around 750,000 workers.
