ANKARA, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Four workers have been killed in a mine collapse accident in the southeastern province of Siirt on Thursday, and more than 10 others are still trapped underground, Dogan News Agency reported.
Ambulances and search and rescue teams were sent from Siirt headquarters and Shirvan to rescue the workers trapped under the copper mine in Shirvan county of Siirt.
The collapse in the mine was caused by the landslide in the area, Dogan reported, adding that trucks and working machines were also buried under the rocks.
Turkish Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) has implemented a crisis management desk for the accident, and the rescue work is still continuing.
