CHANGSHA, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Nine people were killed and two others injured in two separate traffic accidents in central China's Hunan Province on Wednesday and Thursday, local authorities said.
A car ran into a group of workers who were resting by the roadside at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday in Zhuhui District in the city of Hengyang. The accident left four workers dead and two others injured. The driver was taken into police custody.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
On Wednesday, a car collided with a truck at 4:50 p.m. in Lixian County in the city of Changde. Three people were killed at the scene and two others died in a local hospital.
