SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Police in Portland, Oregon, have been asking for public help to identify suspects of vandalism and attacks among protesters who took to the street against President-elect Donald Trump.
Starting from Friday night, when a protest march turned violent in the downtown area of the city in the U.S. Pacific Northwest, Portland Police Bureau has posted on its Twitter social media network account a series of pictures of suspects in action during the protest. Mostly grainy under dim life, the pictures appeared to come from security cameras.
Protest in Portland has been a nightly event since Tuesday, when Trump was elected the next U.S. president.
On Saturday night, a day after a weekend curfew from 10:15 p.m. for kids under age 14 and from midnight for kids aged between 14 and 17 was imposed, police arrested a total of 71 people, a sharp increase compared to the previous night.
On Saturday afternoon, the authorities said they had arrested two suspects involved in the shooting of a man participating in a protest march on the Morrison Bridge in the early hours of the day. An earlier police statement suggested that the suspect, or suspects, were criminal gang associates.
Police said the victim's identity would not be released for investigative reasons, and he was continuing to recover from his non-life-threatening injuries.
