SOFIA, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Industrial enterprises in Bulgaria expect to decrease investments by 8.4 percent year-on-year in 2017, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said Friday.
According to an investment business inquiry of NSI carried out among industrial enterprises, about 34 percent of the entrepreneurs do not plan any expenditures on acquiring fixed assets over the next year.
As much as 35.2 percent of the total amount of investments in industry in 2017 is expected to be directed for increase of production capacity, NSI said.
Investments for replacement of worn-out equipment came on the second place with 26.2 percent, followed by these for mechanization or automation of existing production processes and introduction of new technologies -- 23.6 percent.
The entrepreneurs expect that the investments in Bulgaria's industry in 2016 would be with 15.2 percent less compared to 2015, NSI added.
