ABUJA, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- Gernot Rohr, coach of Nigeria's national soccer team, has vowed to beat the Fennecs of Algeria in Saturday's World Cup qualifier in the country's southeastern city of Uyo.
"The Algerians are a very good side, we have a task to win the match," the German told reporters here.
The north Africans are expected to arrive the city of Uyo, capital of Nigeria's oil-rich Akwa Ibom State, later on Thursday for the match scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Algeria, known to have a fast-paced attacking squad, will be missing some of its experienced players in action due to injuries.
The two countries have met 17 times in competitive matches, with Nigeria having won eight, losing six and three draws.
