TOKYO, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks extended gains Monday morning as market nerves settled following the FBI saying it was not seeking to bring criminal charges to e-mails related to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, just days before the election.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average advanced 230.04 points, or 1.36 percent, from Friday to 17,135.40.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added points, or 1.09 percent, to 1,361.68.
Notable issues that gained by the morning break comprised bank, transportation equipment and securities-linked stocks.
