Ethiopian, Kenyan runners win in Hangzhou Marathon

HANGZHOU, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Bejigan Regasa Mndaye from Ethiopia won the men's title at the 2016 Hangzhou Marathon here on Sunday.

Mndaye clocked a winning time of two hours, 11 minutes and 22 seconds in the 42.195-kilometer run.

The women's title went to Anne Cheptanui Bererwe from Kenya, who was timed 2:31:21.

Nearly 32,000 runners from 50 countries and regions registered for the event, which are divided in full marathon, half marathon, mini marathon, couples run and family run.

The Hangzhou Marathon is one of the oldest marathons in China and dates back to 1987.
