ABUJA, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Nigerian troops have foiled two suicide attacks by terror group Boko Haram in the country's northeastern state of Borno, an army spokesman said on Friday.
Five people involved in the botched attacks were killed by vigilant troops in Yamatake and Gwoza districts of Borno State late Thursday, said Sani Usman, the army spokesman.
He told Xinhua a female suicide bomber was among those gunned down as she attempted to enter a military location in Yamatake district.
A soldier also died in the process of foiling the attack, he added.
The Nigerian government has launched several military operations over the past months to eliminate the terror group, which emerged in northeast Nigeria's Borno region. Enditem
