Peru to attract important economic players to 2016 APEC Summit

LIMA, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Preparing to host the upcoming 2016 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Lima on Nov. 19-20, Peru has confirmed the presence of important global economic players, the country's vice-president Mercedes Araoz confirmed Wednesday.

In a press conference, Araoz confirmed that senior leaders of the 21 members of APEC would all attend the summit, making Peru a focal point of global attention.

She added that APEC 2016 would also seek to facilitate Peru raising its status in international trade as the Summit holds forums for business leaders and investors.

The forums will be attended by a number of leading business figures, including Jack Ma, founder of China's e-commerce giant Alibaba, and Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook.

Ma is scheduled to deliver a speech about his entrepreneurial experiences to a selected audience of Peruvian and foreign entrepreneurs.

According to Peru's representative to APEC, Raul Salazar, Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski will meet with Ma during one of the forums.
