YANGON, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- About 8,000 jade lots will be exhibited at Myanmar's Mid-Year Gems Emporium later this month, official media reported Tuesday.
The emporium will be held from Nov. 20 to 29 in Nay Pyi Taw.
All of the rough jade lots, gems, pearls and jewelries, displayed at the emporium, will be sold in Euro currency. Gems lots and jade lots will be set for sale through open tender and competitive bidding.
The giant jade stone weighting 210 tons, discovered in Phakant township in the country's northernmost Kachin state, has been carved to be exhibited at the emporium, according to an official of the emporium committee.
Nearly 9,000 rough jade lots were exhibited at last year's emporium, earning 900 million euros (990 million U.S. dollars).
The export value of jade and other mineral resources of the country reached 518.421 million U.S. dollars as of Oct. 21 of this fiscal year 2016-2017, while that of the same period of last fiscal year was 771.917 million U.S. dollars, according to the figures of ministry of commerce.
