WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Richter scale jolted central Italy Sunday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The quake, which was felt in Rome, struck at 0640 GMT near the small town of Norcia. The epicenter was at a depth of 10 km.
Quake-prone central Italy suffered a major tremor in August, with nearly 300 people died in the natural disaster.
