ISLAMABAD, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's national women cricket team will play a limited-overs series against New Zealand next month, an official from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Friday.

According to the official, the Pakistan team will play five One-day International (ODI) matches and one Twenty20 encounter against Kiwis next month in New Zealand.

Both teams will play the five games from Nov. 9 to 19. While the only Twenty20 match will be played between them on Nov. 21.

Earlier on Thursday, the PCB announced the women's squad for the New Zealand tour by retaining Sana Mir as captain of the side.

The PCB decided to appoint Mir as the skipper of the ODI team despite extreme opposition from within the organization due to Mir's poor performance as leader during last couple of years. However, the board replaced Mir with Bismah Maroof as the captain of the Twenty20 team.

The team will leave for New Zealand on Nov. 2.

Following the tour to New Zealand, the same Pakistani team will feature in the Asia Cricket Cup tournament to be held in Thailand from Nov. 27.
