Ghana to hold presidential debates in November ahead of general election

ACCRA, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Ghana will hold two presidential debates and one for vice-presidential candidates of political parties with representation in parliament ahead of the December 7 general election.

Jean Mensa, Executive Director of the Institute for Economic Affairs (IEA), organizers of the event, disclosed this to an Accra-based radio station Friday.

She said the first presidential debate would be held on November 8 in Tamale, capital of the Northern Region, some 618 km north of the capital city Accra, while that of the vice-presidential candidates will take place in Sekondi-Takoradi, 218 km west of the capital.

The final debate between the presidential candidates will be held here on November 22.
