MOSCOW, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Syrian government is ready to resume truce on the condition of guarantees for the evacuation of civilians from the besieged city of Aleppo, said Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem in Moscow on Friday.
"We are ready to resume this cease-fire, but only under the condition that we get guarantees that civilians would be able to use that cease-fire," Muallem said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
He added that Damascus is willing to immediately return to intra-Syria talks "without external interference," obviously in reference to the United States.
Together with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, the three ministers are expected to hold a trilateral meeting in Moscow later in the day.
