VIENTIANE, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Lao stock market closed on Friday up 0.83 percent compared to the previous trading day.
The Lao Securities Exchange composite index increased by 8.18 points to reach 995.21 points after closing.
A total of 6,400 shares worth about 21 million Lao kip (nearly 2,643 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.
There are five companies listed at the Lao stock market. Two of them saw no trade on Friday, including Souvanny Home Center Public Company (SVN) and Lao World Public Company (LWPC).
Shares of Lao commercial bank Banque Pour Le Commerce Exterieur Lao (BCEL) stayed unchanged at 5,200 Lao kip (nearly 64 U.S. cents) after trading.
Shares of Petroleum Trading Lao Public Company (PTL) stayed unchanged at 2,300 Lao kip (nearly 28 U.S. cents) after trading.
Shares of state-run energy giant Electricite du Laos Generation Public Company (EDL-Gen) increased by 1.03 percent to 4,900 Lao kip (over 60 U.S. cents).
