Source: Xinhua   2016-10-28 00:16:37

AMMAN, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Thursday signed a deal to set the price of natural gas to be supplied to industries in the country via a pipeline owned by an Egyptian company.

The agreement was signed between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Fajr Company for Natural Gas Transmission and Supply.

Ten factories in Jordan have already submitted requests to be connected to the gas pipeline in Jordan to receive natural gas.

Around 70 million cubic feet of natural gas will be supplied by Fajr to industries in Jordan, which imports about 97 percent of its energy needs annually and opened a terminal last year for liquefied natural gas (LNG) which enabled the country to import large quantities of LNG.
